I think I was talking to Rutskarn once about how we both love dancing, but sometimes the shit they play at parties can be terribad. Don’t get me wrong, I’m guilty for liking some of the worst top 40 songs out there, but since then I’ve been looking for dance music with a little more quality.
So, you can imagine how happy I was to find the music of Monarchy. I honestly couldn’t tell you much about the band, except that it’s two guys from the UK who know a catchy beat when they make one. They’re coming out with an album next year, so keep an eye out for that.
Have a good New Years, everyone. And, 2011? 2010 was a good year. Don’t fuck this up for everybody.

Bluh. Late here. Ability to type impaired by booze and booze-induced nausea. Music catchy: easy to dance to (especially with booze), though that about it.
Future is awesome. Can’t wait for you to catch up.
FUN FACT: Most modern awful dance music is actually secondhand modern good dance music. Or secondhand good 80s dance music with a bit of 90s thrown in.
Also, is there a “Grand List of Music Mumbles Likes” that we can refer to? Telling you that “Maybe I’m Crazy” reminds me of Planet Funk’s “Lemonade” is just me showing off my hipster swagger if you already know them.

First one: started off quite poorly, like pretty much any dance song does (really, why do they all need 8 or more bars just to set the tempo for the listener..), but near the mid-point it really picked up and got good – the vocals and a more elaborate score provided that, imo.
The second one.. Eh. Can’t say much, seemed like a very typical ‘uncer’ track you normally hear at any party that’s not a total slum-dive.
Also, that has no bearing on SPAAAAAACE!. I am appalled at such a misuse of a tag.
P.S. Mumbles, you ought to start categorizing these posts, at least by genres + associations.
And no, Space is not a valid category.

If you listen to Benny Benassi’s own music, it all sounds pretty much like that. He’s a bit hit-or-miss for me in the remix department, but I can do without his original work.
